11/5/15 volunteering…

written 2.25.14 – William and I have been volunteering at the kitchen for a few weeks. He is still happily going with me. We are given a different job each week, sometimes dishing up plates, sometimes serving drinks. We haven’t been there enough that I recognize any of the people who come in to eat. I think that a lot of the people are regulars, because the man in charge of the volunteers greets some of them by name, but I can’t tell yet. It is nice to go and get to help, the people that we serve with are nice. Some help every week so we are starting to get to know them, it is nice to be part of a group. I really wish that we had been able to have my whole family start serving years ago, but we had too much going on…homework, early bed times, allergy shots…and on and on. It is tough to have the kids be every where.
I am only taking William on purpose. I want him to go and feel comfortable. William is very quiet and if Beth and Maggie are there too, sometimes he is even quieter, not wanting his sisters to see him talk and make friends. If we go alone, he can be a whole new person and really start to talk to people. Also, if he gets into a conversation that he needs help with, all of my attention will be on him and I can help him explain to people what he is trying to say. William is bright, but he is so quiet that he hasn’t developed a lot of the conversation skills with people outside of the family. He needs to be comfortable learning to talk to people.
What does your family do together? If you had time, where would you volunteer?

fun 3. Cow Evolution – OK, I’ll admit it, I didn’t learn with Platypus Evolution…my kids were playing Cow Evolution and they had an alien and I didn’t. It is more exciting than Platypus Evolution. there is an alien that needs to have my cows given to it. Points are given the for these cows on another planet. So we can switch back and forth from Earth to Mars and there are the aliens on earth that need cows. They have a picture of which level of cow that they are looking for. Also you can  buy hats for the cows. I though that this was silly at first, but I did end up buying a lot of them hats. If you buy one level of cows a hat, all of the future cows in that level get that hat…Also, if you recreate the world, all of the cows in the next world get the same hat, you don’t need to re-buy them. It is sort of a slow game at first, when enough points are accumulated you can get the cows to come every five seconds instead of every ten seconds. This one is very addicting too.

fun 2. Platypus Evolution – the object is to find two platypus that are the same and move them by each other, where they become one platypus that has changed. As the boxes fall you tap on them to get the platypus out. It is really addictive!!!

fun 1. Jewels Star – I started on classic, then tried mineral for a while, then I went back to classic. Mineral is good if I want to accomplish something, but all of the lower levels must be gone to keep playing. In classic if I am doing anything the game keeps going. Very addictive!!!

10/31/15 snow, college and e-mails…

written 2.6.14 – My car was pulled out of snow four times yesterday. New record. It was pulled out of the snow twice on my own street. The neighbors have been so nice. We have a lot of new neighbors and I haven’t met all of them, but…when they hear a car in the street spinning it’s tires, they all come out to help. Thank you so much!!! This winter has been so tough, but it has brought out the good in so many people!!!

I still haven’t mailed the Christmas cards. Is it too late? Call college. How much will it cost if I have two kids in college next year?  Need to find out when Maggie graduates.
2.7.14 need to make weekly checklist for me. All jobs I do each day, week, month. With all of our energy going to helping Maggie change her schedule, or… hyperventilating as she tries to change the schedule, and dealing with all of the snow, and trying to think of things for Beth to do at home as her school is cancelled day after day because of the snow and the cold, I am loosing track of what home, and bill paying things I have done. Maggie still has not dropped all of her classes.
2.10.14 need to do FAFSA paperwork
2.11.14 Maggie e-mailed the lesion that her class schedule is wrong. She sent the e-mail wrong. Asked to drop classes she needs and add classes she doesn’t need.

1/22/15 restoring the computer to an earlier version…

Today I commented back on someone’s comment on my blog. They had written about restoring your computer back to an earlier version if something went wrong. I read the blog and commented. I wish I had written down the steps. About an hour later my keyboard quit working. I called my son William and he looked at my computer. He couldn’t get the computer to see the keyboard. He asked if he could take out the operating system and try to re-install it again. I asked if he could restore it to an earlier version. He said yes and in less than ten minutes my computer was working again Woo-hoo. The only drawback is that I have lost some comments and I can’t give credit to the blog that had the restoring steps. Thank you!!! I appreciate your posts and really do use them. If it was your blog that I am writing about, please leave a comment so that I can link back to your blog!!!

ok, so I didn’t loose the comments, but the main thing is that my keyboard is now working. Maybe the comments were stored in the hosts computer. I don’t know, I’m not that technical.  Anyway I found the post that I had read. the link is: Thank you sassy town house living!!!

blog income
I have been looking for a way to bring extra cash into my family without getting a second job. I just want enough extra income to be able to pay the bills but still be able to have time to enjoy my kids. I tried a lot of web sites that offered envelope stuffing, they were all dead ends. Then I tried blogging. I figured that if enough people visited my blog then I could add advertisements and get paid. If I monetized my blog I could take the profit to help my family. I have found Blogsvertise. With them I can have advertisements on my blog, or have guest posts or have banner ads. I am still new to this. If I bring other people in to Blogsvertise I can get a percent of what they make. I have the link on the side of my blog. If you click on it you can register your blog and start making money. Please register from my link so they know that you came in through me. If you need to come back later to register please save my page as a favorite and register through my link when you are ready. Thanks ahead of time for registering through me and happy blogging!!!
