I have been struggling to keep the bills paid. Just when I think that everything is almost OK, I get something in the mail that says that I missed a payment. So far I have tried writing my “big five” bills on a piece of paper and tracking them every month to be sure that they are paid. The “big five” are the ones that must be paid or everything falls apart. They are the mortgage, the gas bill, the electric bill, the phone bill and the water bill. When any payment is made I add it to the column for that bill. Then I can see when they are paid or if they have been missed. It didn’t work. There are still a lot of other bills, like doctor bills that aren’t listed and I can’t figure out if they have been paid.
Next I went to cutting out different shapes to represent the size of a bill and to have a better visual of what needs to be paid. This was to be put on the wall so that I could see it. The theory is that when one is completely paid, that shape can be taken off of the wall. This was done for the extra bills, not the “big five”. In theory it was a good idea, but I didn’t want them where the kids could easily see them and I would have to answer a lot of questions, so they went into a place where I couldn’t see them either.
My new plan is to put all of the bills on one sheet of paper. The “big five” are one side of the paper so that they are paid. The rest are all on the other side. I hope that this works. My next plan is to see where we can cut back so that we can have “extra” money to get these bills paid,

written 8/28/14 – I have been looking for a way to bring extra cash into my family without getting a second job. I just want enough extra income to be able to pay the bills but still be able to have time to enjoy my kids. I tried a lot of web sites that offered envelope stuffing, they were all dead ends. Then I tried blogging. I figured that if enough people visited my blog then I could add advertisements and get paid. If I monetized my blog I could take the profit to help my family. I have found Blogsvertise. With them I can have advertisements on my blog, or have guest posts or have banner ads. I am still new to this. If I bring other people in to Blogsvertise I can get a percent of what they make. I have the link on the side of my blog. If you click on it you can register your blog and start making money. Please register from my link so they know that you came in through me. If you need to come back later to register please save my page as a favorite and register through my link when you are ready. Thanks ahead of time for registering through me and happy blogging!!!
written 2/12/12 – Our vacuum cleaner died. We vacuumed the house Saturday. The kids said that it didn’t sound good the last time that they used it. I had just finished the house when the motor started to get really loud. There is a vacuum cleaner shop down the street that we have used before. We have a lot of hair in our house, so we go through a lot of vacuums. We may get a Dirt Devil vacuum next. I usually get my vacuum’s at Target.
William and Beth got haircuts this weekend. William needed new tennis shoes too. Maggie was glad to stay home. She had a lot of homework to do this weekend. She has been working on the big paper that she has to write. Also, she has an empty two litter Coke bottle that she is making into a rocket for science class. They have a lot of math to do for the rocket project, like figuring out how fast and far it will go. I think that they will go outside and launch them. I don’t know what other homework Maggie has.
